DUSK TO DAWN: TAMARA CHERIE’S AW16 LOOKBOOK

A few years ago – 2012 to be exact, which makes me your big poppa, k? – I had the honour of judging the inaugural ELLE Rising Star Designer search. Tamara Cherie was among the eight, very talented young finalists vying for the prize. She presented a strong range that the judging panel was super impressed with, but obviously, as these competitions often go, there could only be one winner. Two years later, the tenacious Tamara entered Rising Star once again, proving once and for all that she is a designer worth her chops. Since then, she has showcased at African Fashion Week and produced a successful range for Mr Price.

Dusk-to-Dawn is the autumn-winter range by the designer’s eponymous brand, and features updated skirt suits, double-breasted jumsuits, and pleated knit tennis dresses, among other things. The range remains true to what’s becoming the designer’s signature structured tailoring, a love for texture and uncompromising attention to detail.
