Still 3 Style Diary Yeoville

Happy Africa Day, Skattie! Although to be honest, errday be Africa day up here in the Skattieverse, and we hope yous are all about this locale on the daily too. Howevs, this Africa Day is a little more special for us because dear friend of Skattie, filmmaker Zandile Tisani has decided to bless the nation with Style Diary: Yeoville, her new short film. In Zandi’s own words: “The idea for Style Diary: Yeoville came from a recognition that what we commonly understand as street style in Africa is measured by its proximity to the street style fare we are accustomed to seeing out of New York, London and Paris. At the time I was living in Yeoville and became struck, daily, by the flair with which my neighbours presented themselves without trying to appease hipster-influenced, supposed sartorial conventions. What I learned is that while fashion might be a playground for the elite, style is intuitive and by virtue of its authenticity; a far more interesting story to tell.” Preach Zandi preach!!!

The short premiered this morning on, an online publication where another dear friend of Skattie, Alix-Rose Cowie, is serving some serious editorial realness. Definitely worth your time, do check it out. We see you Alix, we recognise you honourable member; love your work, love your hair, hope you win. Peep the video below, and check the full write up on Also, so much love for you Zandi; and if you’ll excuse the DJ Khaled-ism, we look forward to following you on the journey to more success.
