Liverpool manager Arne Slot has suggested the coaching staff and team-mates are responsible for helping Darwin Nunez produce more goals
this season. The Uruguayan has scored just one goal against Bournemouth this season, his first at club level since April.
Slot has pointed to one of the problems with Nunez’s lack of goalscoring form, having started just three games. Asked
if Nunez still needs to work harder to adapt to his style of play, Slot said the coaching staff and team-mates also have a responsibility.
“Both. I think it’s a challenge for us, the coaching staff. To always get the best out of each other,” Slot said. “So
we’ve tried to find different ways to position Darwin differently to Diogo. Because they’re not the same type of players, so the team-mates have to adapt to the players. They’re playing with and that’s something I’ve had to do as a manager. ยูฟ่าเบท http://ufabet999.app That’s what we’ve still got to do.” Nunez had a
goal in the midweek win over Bologna but was disallowed for offside.
“When we give him chances, He scored goals but unfortunately we didn’t create enough chances for him.”
Slot has won eight of his nine games in charge of the Reds and currently sits top of the Premier League. But he insists the team cannot get carried away.
“These lads are experienced enough to be in the table after six games. And with their fixture list compared to some teams. “
Other than that, Virgil, Ali, Trent, Robbo, they’ve won the league, Mo won the league with them, they’ve won the Champions League with them. “
So for them to be top of the league is good but I don’t expect them to be checking the table on their phones every second to see they’re top.”
